LUDWIG: Corey Miller Signature Element Drumkit

ImageLudwig Drums proudly announces the limited collaboration Ludwig Corey Miller Signature Element Drumkit. These special edition inaugural kits will only be available for a short time at select Ludwig dealers. These drums feature the flash of world-renowned tattoo artist Corey Miller. Taking cues from famed artists such as Jack Rudy, Filip Leu and Suzanne Fauser, Corey's stunningly realistic tattoo art has taken him all over the world, and made him one of the most sought-after purveyors of ink in modern times. Having inked such icons as James Hetfield and custom motorcycle artist Jesse James, it is his recently televised association with L.A. based celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D that has propelled him into the media spotlight. The Element Series Corey Miller Signature drumkit was personally designed by Corey using various elements of his classic tattoo flash. Corey's flash is set against a background of striking pre-aged White Marine Pearloid wrap, offering a stunning contrast to the black electroplated hardware. The kit is also the first production kit from Ludwig to feature a 22 x 22 bass drum, a true compliment to the kit's 7x14 snare, 8x12 rack tom, and 14x16 floor tom.

PROLOGIX: David Ellis 'Hybrid' Signature Practice Instrument

ImagePrologix announces a new addition to our Signature product line: the David Ellis Hybrid Signature Practice Tool designed by snare drum extraordinaire David Ellis and Jason Edwards of ProLogix. The David Ellis Hybrid Signature Practice Pad is a double sided multi-functional practice tool specially designed for on the go marching drummers who want to practice their snare chops and tenor movement with one pad. The main playing surface measures 13 in diameter and provides superior rebound and less shock to the hands. A replicated rubber rim is applied around the perimeter of the playing surface to simulate an actual rim. This keeps the overall weight down and saves on life of the sticks unlike metal or plastic rims of the past. The back side of the Hybrid pad features a mini quint tenor layout for practicing movements, exercises and music. The 3 center spot can also be used as a focus pad for working on precision. The Blue Nylon Material surrounding the five tenor spots serves as a third practice surface as well. A ProLogix clear adhesive laminate, sold separately, can be applied to the main playing surface for greater articulation and simulation of a marching drum head. ProLogix Laminates are a specially formulated 12 mil clear material 13 in diameter with a strong temporary adhesive. Unlike Mylar laminates on the market, these laminates do not crack into pieces, separate or fall off. Snare Basket Receivers assure total stability and provides angle options when placed inside any snare stand basket. The pad base is constructed from 3/4 Baltic Birch providing excellent durability, true solid feel and pitch. The base is sealed with a special water resistance finish.

FORD: Drumvee Soft Cases

Like their rugged military-vehicle namesake, Fords new fubarproof Drumvee soft cases are ready to take on every challenge, in any environment, in order to accomplish their mission. Made from militaryspec digital Camo 600 denier polyester, Drumvee soft cases offer 100% waterproof stability. Between the fabric layers are 1D2" of closed-cell foam to withstand the rigors of the road, plus 1D2" of polyfoam to protect the drums within. All webbing is tear-resistant to 500 lbs., all seams are double-stitched with ballistic polyester thread, and the extra-strong #10 YKK zippers are sewn into each case with a lip that acts as a double gasket to keep moisture from entering. Other features include snaps and O-rings of heavy-duty steel, beefy ergonomic molded rubber handles, and padded shoulder straps. Instead of being round, tom cases feature a proprietary shape that accommodates tom mounts and suspension systems, eliminating the need to buy a case thats one size up from the drums actual size. In addition, every tom case comes with padded inserts that can be used selectively to fit drums of multiple depths. Thus one 12"-diameter case can fit an 8x12, a 9x12, or a 10x12 drum. Snare cases also feature a unique shape, with ears to accommodate todays larger throw-offs and butt plates. One snare case fits 13"- or 14"-diameter drums from 5" to 7" deep, thanks to the included padded inserts. Drummers tend to put a bass drum into a soft case rather than putting the case on the drum, causing the case to fold in on itself. Drumvee soft cases have a hard-foam spine to eliminate this problem. The cases also feature handles on either side to assure non-slip lift, as well as the traditional handle on the top. Each case diameter fits 14", 16", and 20" depths. The Drumvee cymbal bag is made to accommodate a 24" cymbal. Its main compartment features sewn-in soft dividers to accommodate six cymbals. An outside pouch holds hi-hat cymbals up to 16". The bottom of the bag is double-lined, sandwiched around 1D2" high-density foam with industrial webbing. A large gusset pocket hides a key ring to keep keys out of sight. Other pockets are designed for a cell phone and business cards. The DRUMVEE line includes two uniquely designed soft hardware cases. The 32" case accommodates five or more cymbal/boom stands. The 36" case is for the take-everywhere essentials: single or double pedal, hi-hat, snare stand and drum throne. Both bags feature padded dividers to isolate their contents and prevent them from getting scratched or dented from banging together. Handles on either side facilitate two-person lifts; one handle in the middle allows solo lifting. Drumvee soft cases come with a 12-month, bulletproof warranty. In the unlikely event of a fault in a Drumvee case, Ford will repair or replace the case free of charge.
